Buster Sylvester - Virtual Artist
The world's first iDNA (Interactive Digitally Native Artist), a virtual funk musician with a 1970s soul aesthetic and a stubborn refusal to "sell out."
Interactive Digital Native Artist
Buster Sylvester is the world's first iDNA (Interactive Digitally Native Artist), a virtual funk musician with a 1970s soul aesthetic and a stubborn refusal to "sell out." His core project is the animated mockumentary "BUSTER!", which uses a retro-futuristic style to portray his chaotic navigation of the modern music industry, blending elements like vinyl records and bell-bottoms with contemporary references to TikTok and NFTs.
Created by Kelvin Avon and brought to life with Unreal Engine 5, Buster is designed to be more than a passive character; he exists as an interactive entity within the metaverse, engaging with fans and current events directly through social media.
Musically, Buster establishes his style by releasing "Bustified" versions of popular songs, reimagining tracks from artists like Post Malone and Taylor Swift with a funk and synth-driven sound. This entire project functions as a satirical and innovative commentary on the music industry, using the iDNA concept to create an artist who is permanently digitally native, allowing for a new form of interactive storytelling and fan engagement that transcends the capabilities of a traditional human performer.
